“As Creative Director and founder at Shift Change Agency, my role is to develop concepts for videos with our clients and hire an excellent creative team to execute them. I work very closely with the clients and I am available all throughout the creative process to make sure the best video possible is being made with the best possible value for money. 

I develop ideas and concepts with the clients and realise ideas into two page scripts for 2 minute videos. 

There are many video production companies who can make ads, but my vision for Shift Change Agency is that while ads can be art, and art can be ads, the videos we make have to change minds.  I don’t finalise a script until I am confident that the video we produce will have a tangible and measurable impact offline. I won’t waste your time for anything less. 

How we do this is we take an art led approach, informed by well established lobbying, activism and advocacy techniques. This is informed by my twenty years of experience working as an artist and activist engaged in social change, as well as working with politicians, NGOs and as a full time activism professional at Amnesty International. If you are interested in the work, and you have an idea for a shift you would like to make, you book in for an informal chat at a time that suits you, with no expectation of any commitment.”

What you can expect / How we Work

We have a conversation about something you want to shift, by understanding how things are now. The problem, the challenge, the situation we want to shift. We strip it back to the core of what it is. What would the situation be like if this were a story, so simple anyone could understand? This is what I call the A narrative

Then we jump to the B narrative. We imagine the shift has already happened. What will it look like then? How will people feel? What will be different? Who will benefit most from this shift? How will our communities look? 

Then we explore the Call To Action. What do we want people to do to realise this shift? 

At this stage usually the kernel of an idea, some images and the beginning of a vision will have emerged between us in the conversation, sometimes the client will already have an image or a sentence, having understood the shift for so long.  

I’ll get a sense of some practicalities including the scale of what you want to make. It’s always hard to give a definitive price at this stage, as I like to be very detailed about the costing. 

I’ll go away and develop the idea and come back in a few days with a clear idea. At this stage you might like to bring some others from your team in. I’ll have a clear pitch deck you can share with others, a detailed idea of schedule and what support (if any) we would need from your organisation to realise it, and a detailed breakdown of cost. 

If you are happy to move ahead, the process will take about three weeks until you receive the full deliverables (video in all formats, images, whatever else is needed) and we will support your team with the social media roll out. 

We will also work with you to develop metrics and methods to measure the shift in hearts and minds that the video will create. 

The video will belong to your organisation, and the team will have ownership over it because they created it. We work with you within a flat structure, believing that all types of expertise are essential for synergy.
